Hi, I’m Emma!
I went to undergrad and graduate school at Baylor University. I have a Master of Social Work and hold my licensed clinical social work license (LCSW-S #65954) I am (clearly) a Baylor Bear at heart, yet love living in Austin! I am a big foodie - I love trying out new Austin restaurants with my husband. We are borderline obsessed with our dog, Hobbs. We have a precious daughter, Ellis. We love traveling as often as we can to as many places as we can. I enjoy going for walks on the trail, reading way too many books at once, shopping, finding fun antique shops, buying plants, working on my vegetable garden, and redecorating my house (a lot). I love holistic living and try to incorporate as many clean and holistic products /food into my life as possible. Friends and family are very important parts of my life. My work background started in medical care, namely end of life counseling and working with oncology patients. Through this, I developed a love of building relationships with people at various stages of life and working through hard seasons to see that a light is possible.
This is Hobbs, my wonderful therapy-in-training pup! You will often see him around the office. He loves snuggles!

How I Help:
My style is calm and non-judgemental. I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to empower clients to take better control of their thoughts and create healthy coping strategies. Through also incorporating DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) in sessions as well, I am able to help clients challenge negative thinking patterns while regulating emotions to feel more level. I utilize a solution focused approach while holding space for clients to process in their own way.
Sometimes, all we need is someone to listen, and my hope is this creates space for solution- focused therapy and allows clients to see past the current crisis. Light over darkness is possible! I hope everyone feels safe and heard when they enter the door. If requested, therapy from a faith perspective can be utilized.
